2023 Nutrition Data Testing

In the spring of 2023, EKPA sent two blind samples to the COD SGS-AGRI in BURNABY BC, Canada.

The two samples were Sample A (commercial pork chop) and Sample T (kunekune pork chop).

EKPA ordered the following testing panels to be done on each sample.

  • Nutritional Labelling Package CDN ( $1835USD)

  • Vitamin D ($384USD)

  • Vitamin E ($245USD)

When EKPA received the results back from the Canadian lab, the results were interpreted for us by a professional in the nutrition field.

When we did a side by side look at that commercial pork chop verses the USDA nutirtional data on commercial pork, they were nearly identical.

Our findings on the kunekune pork were very similar or even higher in nutritional content than the findings that Food Animals Concerns Trust outlines in their Pasture Pork FACT Sheet as well as this very interesting SARE GRANT Study done in 2017.
